What the experts say…

August 29, 2007

The websites given were interesting. I think the biggest eye opener on what not to do was the www.webpagesthatsuck.com.

The websites listed were the perfect example of WHAT NOT to do.

I agree, that a website should have a sleek, put together look. If people cant get around your site, then there is no point in viewing the page.

Overall, you need a website thats good on the eyes, and that is easy to navigate. That is what I agree on with the experts.

West Hills Website Blog

August 27, 2007

The west hills page has a great feel and layout. There is not much that can be done to perfect it using design.

However, the content fetaured on the site does not appeal to students. This is my concern. The student visitors would increase with just a few changes.

Personally, I only check the website for the schedule. All the other stuff on the website seems to be geared towards parents and staff.

I have a few suggestions that in my opinion, would make the site more student friendly.

  • Put more emphasis on the teacher and grade checking pages. We are often looking for these.
  • Online counselor appointment scheduling would help alot.
  • Maybe a forum geared towards each specific class.

Little things like this would be beneficial to the website as a whole. It would not only increase the student visitors, but would also benefit us during school hours.
